Sunset on the Mountains

This is a testimony that "The best camera for the job, is the one with you!". This was shot with my Nikon P6000 - the only camera I had with me.

Being that Pikes Peak (far right of the photo) towers 8,000ft over Colorado Springs, it is a rarity for most folks in The Springs to see a truly spectacular sunset, much less get a shot of one. Even on the Eastern Plains, being in the right place at the right time with a camera is even more rare. When these do occur, they typically only last a couple of minutes at best!

This past Friday, coming back from hunting out on the ranch, the Lord painted our sky with his beauty - just a simple reminder of the love and warmth that He blankets us with.

The tallest peak on the right is Pikes Peak. Just to the left is NORAD, the tiny yet busy city in the mountains protecting us all.
