A pet is an animal kept for companionship and enjoyment or a household animal. The most popular pets are noted for their loyal or playful characteristics, for their attractive appearance, or for their song. Insects (Class Insecta) are the biggest class of arthropods and the only ones with wings. They are the most diverse group of animals on the Earth. To be considered domesticated, a population of animals must have their behavior, life cycle, or physiology systemically altered as a result of being under human control for many generations.
